About The Position

The Loader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader and related heavy equipment to support concrete production operations. This position manages raw material movement, maintains proper bin levels, performs routine equipment maintenance, and ensures a clean, organized yard and plant area. The Loader Operator also assists with general plant maintenance and upkeep, ensuring compliance with all company safety, environmental, and operational standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience operating a front-end loader or similar heavy equipment, preferably in a concrete, aggregate, or construction environment.
  • Working knowledge of safe equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment service and repair manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and vendors.
  • Reliable, punctual, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor as required.
  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
  • Ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift, stretch, push, pull, twist, kneel, stand, walk, sit, and reach.
  • Ability to safely climb up and down stairs and/or ladders.
  • Ability to work primarily outside, with exposure to the extremes of hot or cold weather.

  • Operate a front-end loader and other heavy equipment to move materials to bins for use in concrete production.
  • Maintain and operate all assigned equipment in accordance with company policies, manufacturer guidelines, and legal requirements.
  • Keep aggregate bins filled according to production needs and job specifications in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Charge the dry-batch plant with raw materials using the wheel loader, maintaining consistent supply to meet output expectations.
  • Manage materials inventory at acceptable levels, ensuring availability for scheduled production.
  • Verify that drivers dump materials into the proper pits and maintain clear communication with the trucking team.
  • Perform general maintenance on the loader and plant equipment, including shoveling, greasing, and minor mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Follow General Plant Maintenance checklists and perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the yard, Connex, ramp, and plant site.
  • Remove material buildup from pits weekly for cleaning and operational efficiency.
  • Load ice into mixer trucks during summer months as required.
  • Empty all outside trash cans and properly dispose of waste and empty fiber boxes.
  • Maintain the reclaimer and associated systems to ensure proper functionality.
  • Communicate effectively and courteously with peers, supervisors, and vendors to ensure proper handling and flow of materials.
  • Attend and actively participate in required safety meetings and training sessions.
  • Exhibit a positive, professional, and team-oriented attitude while promoting company values and culture.
  • Follow supervisor and management instructions with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical systems to identify and complete basic equipment repairs.
  • Understand and interpret service and repair manuals related to assigned equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
