About The Position

Ward Feed Yard in Larned, KS is seeking a full time Loader Operator. The successful candidates for these positions must be able to pass post offer employment testing. Summary: Operate heavy equipment to mix ingredients for cattle feed in dump boxes to be transferred to feed trucks, assist in upkeep and maintenance of equipment, and perform general administrative duties.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three month’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily feed assignments.
  • Operate loader to transfer commodities from stockpile to dump box for mixing rations.
  • Maintain general housekeeping in and around the mill/commodities area.
  • Perform and/or assist in preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Comply with all OSHA Safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
