POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of duties in keeping the Plant and department(s) running productively through their daily routine. to include scheduling employees to equalize workloads and offering assistance in any work area. Employees in this position are responsible for keeping a clean and safe work place and letting management know promptly of an hazards that the encounter at the operation

Requirements

  • Preventative Maintenance Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able perform basic mathematical computations
  • Ability to detect potential problems through observation in the field.
  • Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs Work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes.
  • Must be able to work 12 hour shifts for an extended day period during plant outages.
  • Proven self-direction and leadership abilities.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects and meeting all required deadlines.
  • Must be a team player who works well with others.
  • Must be open minded, willing to learn, and receptive to change.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers.
  • Must have a telephone available and be receptive to callouts.
  • Good decision making skills regarding safety
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents
  • Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the minerals industry.
  • Physical Demands include, but are not limited to: Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, and climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required in this position.
  • Will be working at times in office environment but mainly in a mining environment.
  • The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles.
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.
  • Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Production Troubleshoot, recognize and resolve any problems that may arise.
  • Inspecting and cleaning trucks and/ or railcars.
  • Make alternate changes due to breakdowns or emergency cases.
  • Operating front-end loader to move railcars into position for cleaning and loading.
  • Operating front-end loader and bobcat to clean up around mine and plant areas.
  • Operating front-end loader or dozer to feed stone into tunnel feeder.
  • Operating end dump truck.
  • Operating Oil Treatment System.
  • Reporting Completing daily equipment checklist.
  • Submitting the daily equipment checklist to the plant superintendent.
  • Completing railcar inspection sheet.
  • Maintenance General maintenance work, as directed.
  • Safety Enforcing and complying all company, local, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend safety meetings.
  • Complete Pre-shift Work Place Examinations Quality System, as defined by the Corporate Quality Manual Maintaining the validity of all documentation affecting this position.
  • Maintaining the validity of all procedures affecting this position.
  • Training Providing on-the-job training, as assigned.
  • Verification of on-the-job training, as assigned.
  • Backup To back up other Utility Operators.
  • To back up Plant Operators To be backed up by other Utility Operators To be backed up by Plant Operators, Plant Superintendent, and Plant Manager.
  • Clean Up All areas under and around conveyor belts.
  • All areas around dry plants Any and al other duties as assigned.
