About The Position

The position involves performing general tasks that require physical labor, including operating a loader and Bobcat at pits and/or plants. The role may also involve using hand and power tools such as air hammers and small mechanical hoists. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces for support, and maintaining a clean plant yard.

Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Good work ethic.
• 1 year experience operating loader preferred but not required.
• MSHA certified a plus.
• Dependable transportation.
• Punctual, dependable, and self-motivated.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends.
• Valid NC driver license.

Responsibilities

• Operate loader as needed for moving and loading materials at pits or on plant yard.
• Use jackhammers, drills, and other power tools as required.
• Position, join, align, and seal structural components.
• Shovel materials.
• Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
• Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, or paint through hoses to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.
• Tend all machines used in day-to-day operations.
• Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Lubricate, clean, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or using caulking guns.
• Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Control traffic passing near, in, and around work area.
• Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps, and other temporary structures.
• Load, unload building materials, machinery, and tools.
• Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.
• Learn and follow safety regulations.
• Work long, flexible hours as demanded by customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by immediate supervisor or other manager.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
