About The Position

The loader operator/material handler will receive, transfer, and load all incoming and outgoing materials (EAF dust, in-process materials- Pellets/Anthracite, Waelz Iron Product and Waelz Zinc Oxide) to support the overall production process.

Requirements

• Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to communicate well (written, verbal, and otherwise).
• Knowledge of all company safety, health, environmental, and production policies and procedures.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Gain HAZWOPER Training Certification.
• Qualified to wear a respirator.
• Obtain and maintain in-house mobile equipment licensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties and activities in alignment with company values: Integrity, Humility, Innovation, Open to Change, Collaboration, Excellence, and Customer Focus.
• Have general working knowledge of all plant equipment (conveyors, baghouses, dryers, Kiln, Pelletizer, etc.).
• Assist with monitoring and maintaining the plant processes/equipment in a safe & environmentally sound manner meeting quality, production, and recovery goals.
• Operate mobile equipment including front-end loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, vacuum sweepers, golf carts, etc.
• Take and follow direction effectively.
• Communicate well with others.
• Collect and record various data throughout the facility.
• Sweep, clean, organize, stock, and maintain areas, parts, tools, and supplies utilizing Lean/5S methods.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist with general maintenance when the process is down.
• Complete inspection sheets.
• Clean or wash the units as needed (assigned by the Supervisor).
• Inspect and grease all lubrication points, and report any anomalies.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
