About The Position

Looking for a job that keeps you moving and working outdoors instead of stuck inside all day? At Merrell Bros., Inc., our Loaders play a key role in helping turn biosolids into a sustainable resource that benefits agriculture and the environment. In this role, you’ll manually assist our operations team to move material from tankers into the land application process, helping keep projects running safely and efficiently. No two days are exactly the same—this position involves a mix of equipment operation, hands-on work, and problem solving, with plenty of time working outdoors alongside a hardworking team. This job is active and physical, involving lifting, climbing, and working around pumps, valves, and equipment while supporting daily operations across the site. You’ll also assist with a variety of general labor activities that keep our facility and projects moving forward. The right person for this role is self-motivated, dependable, and ready to jump in and get the job done safely and efficiently. This position is based at our corporate headquarters, with occasional travel to project locations (up to 30 nights per year, sometimes in extended stretches). A clean driving record is required, and candidates must be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)—having a Class A or B CDL is a big plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly is required.

Requirements

  • Prior work experience as a laborer
  • Willingness to apply hands on experience to agricultural equipment and material
  • Ability to take directions and apply to situations; adaptable to various personalities
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Willing to obtain Commercial Driver’s License
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Tend to Tanker upon arrival to site by venting tank, monitoring levels, communicating with driver
  • Attach hose connectors to tanker and terra-gator equipment to transition material from one unit to the other or to biocentre
  • Manipulate controls to set, activate and adjust flow of biosolid material
  • Observe and listen to equipment operation to detect any malfunctions
  • Notify Operations Manager when issues arise
  • Additional duties may include a variety of activities throughout the day including pressure washing, debris removal, site clean up, equipment clean up as needed
