About The Position

The truck loader loads and unloads materials from trucks and moves materials within the plant and yard. The position requires functioning in a heavy work environment, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Requirements

• Prior related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
• Ability to communicate information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings to co-workers, managers and customers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of aluminum/stainless steel products a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read work order or follow oral instructions to load/unload material onto/from trucks.
• Inspect each load against paperwork and correct any problems noticed.
• Load material, from truck or pallet, onto trays, racks and shelves.
• Secure lifting attachments to material, transports load to destination or signals crane/hoisting operators to move load to destination.
• Count, weigh and records material handled from work order.
• Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
