This position involves checking all outgoing loads to verify accuracy against customer invoices, sales receipts, or other itemized documents. The role may be performed at a yard check-out gate or within a routine yard or warehouse setting. Key duties include verifying the contents of customers’ vehicles or delivery trucks as they leave the yard, ensuring all merchandise is accounted for, and confirming that the yard loader has correctly loaded and initialed the material on the invoice. The Load Checker is responsible for resolving any discrepancies that arise. Additionally, the role may involve handling customer material returns, completing credit request forms, noting material conditions, arranging for credit processing, and restoring returned materials to storage. The individual will read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, and shipping orders to determine items for movement, gathering, or distribution. They will track inaccuracies to report to operations managers, utilize a DDM tracker, and may conduct inventory searches. The position requires efficient work planning and pacing to meet daily, weekly, project, or team productivity goals, as well as strict adherence to all safety procedures and practices, including attending safety meetings and suggesting improvements.
