The LNG Optimization Process Engineer at NextDecade, LLC is responsible for ensuring the safe and sustainable optimization of the LNG value chain. This role involves monitoring performance, providing technical guidance, and developing tools to minimize emissions while maximizing production efficiency. The engineer will work closely with various departments to implement improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with operational procedures.

  • Maintain a ‘Safety First' attitude and be a safety leader.
  • Review and monitor performances and deviations, developing tools for optimization.
  • Provide technical guidance to optimize the value chain including feed gas supply, units, production, ship loading, and power usage.
  • Minimize emissions and review production events while maintaining the loss database.
  • Identify opportunities and validate emission events.
  • Contribute to planning activities and benchmarking exercises.
  • Maintain the Production Databook and ensure compliance with RGLNG procedures and policies.
  • Update and maintain documents and procedures related to plant optimization and loss management.
  • Adhere to the Operations Department Operations Management System.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department to identify and implement improvement initiatives, processes, and projects.
  • Provide inputs into MOCs relating to production optimization and risk reduction.
  • Utilize the dynamic simulator to validate process improvement recommendations.
  • Recommend and facilitate performance tests.
  • Travel for meetings and/or training as required.
  • Engineering degree or extensive engineering experience with a focus on process engineering or operations.
  • Minimum 5 years of LNG experience.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
  • Experience in plant optimization and extensive natural gas and LNG process operations experience.
  • Experience in influencing, motivating, mentoring, coaching, and supporting a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of APCI liquefaction process and applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Skilled in providing constructive feedback for continuous development of tools.
  • Highly motivated with time management and organizational skills along with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Computer literate, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of computer-based maintenance programs.
  • Adaptability to manage changes in work environment regarding updated deadlines or unexpected delays.
