This new Per Diem LNA role at Mass General Brigham for Children Pediatric Specialty Clinic supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. The LNA is also responsible for taking vital signs, obtaining specimens, observing and reporting information, and providing basic first aid.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] required
  • Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] certification required
  • Knowledgeable in general nursing assistant practices, personal care and basic medical services.
  • Knowledgeable of patient rights, privacy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to needs of diverse patients and employees regarding culture, language, gender and disability.
  • Understands and is committed to maintaining highest level of confidentiality and adheres to policies on confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical/Medical Office/Managed Care Experience 1-2 years preferred
  • Nursing Assistant Experience 0-1 year preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with both clinical and non-clinical patient services.
  • Take and record Vital Signs and weights per policy.
  • Provide hands-on patient/client care.
  • Collect and bag soiled linen and deliver to dirty linen area.
  • Assist physician and/or licensed nurse with treatments and procedures as needed.
  • Report changes in patient’s condition, patient/family concerns or complaints to charge nurse and/or supervisor.
  • Document patient information.
  • Manage patient flow.
  • Interact directly with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.
  • Obtain specimens.
  • Observe and report information.
  • Provide basic first aid.
