About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY: Live Swine Tech Lv 1 - OK Pork Plant Pay: $18.50/HR DUTIES (Include, but are not limited to the following): Performs daily care giving for all live swine, vaccination, blood pull, movement, sorting, and clean out of TPG products/facilities. (35%) Loading on to the truck for transport to designated farms, other TPG complexes and/or processing plant. (35%) Cleans and disinfects barns, vehicles, grounds and equipment. (20%) Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as flow changes and maintains a clean and organized work area. (10%) Successful Candidate will have successfully completed Pork Avenue Training Phase 2 respective to the assigned facility. This is comprised of both computer-based training modules as well as demonstrated through In Barn Verifications with manager. Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements/Safety: The jobsite is a bio-secure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any porcine species (live swine, companion, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be willing and able to use safe lifting techniques. Lift fifty (50) pounds without assistance repeatedly with intermittent breaks; Push/pull 350-650 pound animal cart with assistance; Climb over three (3) and four (4) foot panels; Bend and stoop repeatedly; Stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on concrete; Use a high-pressure wand; Push/pull 400 pound feed cart; Climb feed bin ladders to check feed levels; Move animals with a moving board; Lift thirty five (35) to fifty (50) pound animals over a three (3) to four (4) foot fence repeatedly with intermittent breaks; Team members in the Technician position will work: Inside/outside; On wet concrete floor; In hot/cold temperatures; In high humidity; In considerable feed/animal dust; with repetitive duties.
