About The Position

At Bell & Evans, we’ve built our reputation on doing things the right way — from animal welfare and food safety to how we plan, execute, and continuously improve our operations. We’re looking for a Live Operations Scheduling Manager who thrives at the intersection of data, people, and live production, and who can bring structure, visibility, and accountability to how product moves from hatchery through processing. This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys being close to the work, partnering across departments, and translating live-operations data into clear schedules, informed decisions, and reliable outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 3+ years of experience in live operations, production scheduling, or a similar environment
  • Working knowledge of live poultry operations, including hatchery, grow-out, or production planning
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting data to inform operational decisions
  • Comfort working in dynamic, production-driven environments — this is not a desk-only role
  • Experience leading and developing teams, with the ability to set priorities and manage day-to-day execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Willingness to learn and apply product transportation and compliance requirements
  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset — you balance accuracy, constraints, and people to get result

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Excel skills preferred; experience with production or live-operations software strongly valued

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for live operations scheduling, ensuring accurate timing, volume, and product specifications
  • Partner with Hatchery, Grow-Out, Transportation, Sales, and Processing to align schedules with bird weights, customer requirements, and production plans
  • Develop and maintain chick placement and production schedules that support correct product timing and volumes
  • Monitor bird performance throughout the growing phase and provide transparency into variances, risks, and opportunities
  • Coordinate daily communication across critical departments regarding product volume, condition, and schedule needs
  • Ensure producers receive timely, accurate communication regarding schedule demands and changes
  • Conduct daily stakeholder meetings to provide updates on product volumes, conditions, and scheduling impacts
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within live operations scheduling, planning, and reporting
  • Oversee generation and accuracy of live operations reports supporting correct product delivery and compliance
  • Manage and optimize use of MTech live operations software, including reporting accuracy and exploration of innovative tools
  • Provide regular updates and insights to the VP of Live Operations
  • Develop, coach, and support team members through clear expectations, feedback, and professional development

Benefits

  • A collaborative, cross-functional environment where your work directly impacts outcomes
  • The opportunity to lead and shape live operations scheduling in a growing, values-driven organization
  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • A culture that values accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
