Live-In Caregiver
About The Position
We are currently hiring a compassionate and dependable Live-In Caregiver to support a senior in Ames, Iowa. In this role, you will build meaningful relationships while providing around-the-clock support that promotes comfort, dignity, and independence for older adults in their own homes. As a live-in caregiver, you will play a vital role in ensuring consistency of care and companionship. We thoughtfully match caregivers with clients and provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure your success. Prior experience in assisted living, independent living, senior communities, nursing homes, home care, or similar healthcare settings is highly preferred.
Requirements
- Compassionate, reliable individuals with a passion for serving seniors
- Comfortable living in a home with cats (no pet allergies)
- Ability to live in the client’s home as scheduled
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and grow
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in home care, healthcare, assisted living, or a related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, including personal care, bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
- Offer companionship and meaningful social engagement
- Ensure client safety and monitor changes in condition
- Maintain a clean, safe, and dignified home environment
