About The Position

We’re looking for a dedicated live-in caregiver to provide personalized, one-on-one support for our loved one in a safe, comfortable home environment. No matter the name, what they all have in common is a calling to care for people in the comfort of their own homes. As our population ages, the demand for caregivers is growing every day! Is this career right for you? Home Helpers specialize in providing comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative care and continuing assistance. Locally-owned and operated, this company serves Central Houston including: The Memorial Villages, (Bunker Hill, Piney Point, Hedwig, Hunters Creek, Spring Valley, Hillshire, Spring Branch), Up Town, Afton Oaks, River Oaks, West University and Bellaire. Member businesses are independently owned and operated. Your application will go directly to the member business, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of that business. Requirements

  • Kind, trustworthy, and responsible personality
  • Ability to live on-site for 4 days and work collaboratively with family members
  • Great communication skills and a genuine heart for caregiving
  • Dementia & Alzheimer's experience
  • A compassionate heart
  • The ability to lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds
  • Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
  • Must be willing to complete Dementia & Alzheimer's Specialist certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a caregiver, CNA or home health aide (preferred but not required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily assistance with personal care, meals, and medication reminders
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Help with light housekeeping and errands
  • Ensure a warm, respectful, and positive atmosphere at all times
