About The Position

Senior Helpers is a nationally recognized leader in senior home care, and we are urgently hiring compassionate, dependable Live-In Caregivers to support seniors who need consistent, around-the-clock care in the comfort of their homes. If you have at least one year of hands-on caregiving experience —professional or family caregiving—and are passionate about helping seniors live safely, comfortably, and with dignity, we want to hear from you. Requirements

Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience (professional or family caregiving accepted)
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must be able to commit to live-in assignments
Reliable transportation required for errands or appointments
Valid driver’s license required if transporting clients
Must be willing and able to travel to: Huntley, Algonquin, Cary, Elgin, South Elgin, and surrounding areas (Applicants unwilling to travel to these locations will not be considered)
Must pass background screening
Compassionate, dependable, and committed to quality care

Nice To Haves

CPR / First Aid Certification
Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care
CNA or HHA certification
Experience with mobility assistance
Experience providing in-home services to seniors or completion/enrollment in a CNA or nursing program
Ability to work independently in a live-in setting
Strong judgment, communication, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

Provide continuous care while residing in the client’s home, including designated rest and off-duty time, in accordance with care plans and state guidelines.
Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
Provide companionship and meaningful engagement
Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
Perform light housekeeping and laundry
Provide medication reminders (no medication administration)
Assist with mobility and transfers
Escort clients to appointments and errands as required
Maintain a safe and supportive home environment
Follow individualized care plans and document care provided
Observe, report, and communicate changes in client condition
