About The Position

Senior Helpers is a nationally recognized leader in senior home care, and we are urgently hiring compassionate, dependable Live-In Caregivers to support seniors who need consistent, around-the-clock care in the comfort of their homes. If you have at least one year of hands-on caregiving experience —professional or family caregiving—and are passionate about helping seniors live safely, comfortably, and with dignity, we want to hear from you. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience (professional or family caregiving accepted)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to commit to live-in assignments
  • Reliable transportation required for errands or appointments
  • Valid driver’s license required if transporting clients
  • Must be willing and able to travel to: Huntley, Algonquin, Cary, Elgin, South Elgin, and surrounding areas (Applicants unwilling to travel to these locations will not be considered)
  • Must pass background screening
  • Compassionate, dependable, and committed to quality care

Nice To Haves

  • CPR / First Aid Certification
  • Experience with dementia or Alzheimer’s care
  • CNA or HHA certification
  • Experience with mobility assistance
  • Experience providing in-home services to seniors or completion/enrollment in a CNA or nursing program
  • Ability to work independently in a live-in setting
  • Strong judgment, communication, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous care while residing in the client’s home, including designated rest and off-duty time, in accordance with care plans and state guidelines.
  • Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
  • Provide companionship and meaningful engagement
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry
  • Provide medication reminders (no medication administration)
  • Assist with mobility and transfers
  • Escort clients to appointments and errands as required
  • Maintain a safe and supportive home environment
  • Follow individualized care plans and document care provided
  • Observe, report, and communicate changes in client condition
