About The Position

The Live Haul Associate plays a crucial role in the poultry movement process, assisting in the transfer and maintenance of machinery used for transporting poultry from grow-out locations to processing facilities. This position involves operating mechanical loading equipment, ensuring safety practices, and performing minor repairs and servicing of related equipment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.
• Demonstrated ability to operate mechanical equipment used for loading poultry.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the transfer, minor repair, and servicing of machines and related equipment utilized in the transfer of poultry before or after loading.
• Aid in spotting for live haul trucks at the farm to ensure safe practices and mitigation of damage.
• Operate mechanical loading equipment in compliance with safety guidelines to avoid damage to grower's housing and equipment; notify appropriate personnel in the event of damage immediately once discovered.
• Evaluate loading equipment and vehicles while operating and notify appropriate person of mechanical defects or needed repairs.
• Identify opportunities for improvement, develop improvements, present to appropriate personnel, and lead or participate in the implementation of improvements.
• Wear personal protective equipment in all areas where required.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
