About The Position

The Live Hanger position involves taking live birds from conveyors and hanging them in shackles. The primary responsibility is to lift live poultry from the supply conveyor and hang the birds by their feet from a shackle conveyor. This role is essential in maintaining the production line and ensuring that it is kept full at all times.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand 100% of the work day.
• Gripping and repetitive use of hands.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb steps.
• Must be comfortable working in organic conditions - environment is very dirty, room is dark (red light), and temperatures can get very hot in spring and summer months.

Responsibilities

• Work at a pace necessary to keep the production line full at all times.
• Lift live poultry from the supply conveyor and hang live birds on a moving shackle line.
• Meet birds per minute ratio for premium pay.
• Physically inspect products for both natural occurring and processing defects.
• Comply with written plant policies and procedures.
• Identify and report any suspicious or abnormal situations to their immediate supervisor or plant management official.
• Must be dependable.
• Performance must stay at proficient level in order to keep premium.
