About The Position

Live Effects Trainer, Threat Fabrication, and Pilot Specialist The Opportunity: Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a highly experienced defense professional to serve as a Training Material Fabrication and sUAS and Pilot Specialist. This role focuses on fabrication, modification, operation, and technical employment of threat and counter-threat capabilities in support of training, experimentation, and readiness initiatives. Additionally, this role focuses on classroom and field training support to units and Soldiers in preparation for real-world missions and operations. What You'll Do: Design, fabricate, modify, and maintain sUAS and associated training materials Support C-sUAS capability development including threat replication, red-air program development, and system testing Operate sUAS platforms in support of training events, exercises, experimentation, and evaluations Integrate sensors, communications, power systems and mission specific components onto sUAS platforms Support electronic attack, detection, and mitigation experimentation aligned with CEMA and EMS operations Conduct technical assessments of enemy sUAS threats, TTPs, and emerging technologies Provide hands on technical support to Army units employing sUAS and C-sUAS systems Advise leadership on capability gaps, system, performance, and modernization opportunities Ensure compliance with FAA, DoW, and Army regulations governing UAS operations Document designs, configurations, test results, and after-action findings Employ instructor skills and training aids to support and meet training requirements Assist with planning and supporting training at the units’ point of need at home station or on the road, including managing the loading and unloading of training equipment and materials Join us. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, or U.S. Army National Guard
  • 2+ years of experience with Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) multi-rotor sUAS platforms
  • Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain the Association for Talent Development (ATD) Master Trainer Certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Ability to obtain the FAA Part 107 - sUAS Remote Pilot Certification within 12 months of hire date
  • Ability to complete the Joint Knowledge Online: Basic UAS Qualification Level I and Level II courses within 12 months of hire date

  • Experience with Army sUAS systems and countermeasures
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with 3D printing hardware and software production
  • Experience with precision soldering techniques and electronic circuitry
  • Experience with integrating virtual reality into training
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and airspace requirements
  • Knowledge of the Army structure, training cycles, and readiness requirements
  • Ability to operate both independently and as a member of a training team
  • Ability to work weekends to support program requirements
  • Ability to produce detailed written reports and evaluations
