About The Position

The Audio Visual/Low Voltage Engineer will be joining a highly successful and functional IT team that supports the needs of Graton Resort & Casino. This position is responsible for the maintenance, assembly and operational duties for a range of live Audio Visual and stage equipment with the purpose of creating the best possible guest experience. This role will assist with the creation and implementation of standard operating procedures, as well as the creation and documentation of preventive maintenance procedures for live event Audio Visual equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Strong experience with Live Audio Visual events technologies, willing to meet the 24-hour demands of a successful Hotel/Casino operation.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience with Audio-Visual event operation with technologies. A minimum of two (2) certifications of Audio-Visual equipment, repairs or operations. Avid and GrandMa certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with Low Voltage infrastructure, tools, and related test equipment. Be familiar with common practices with running or extending Low Voltage infrastructure. FOA and Fusion Slicer certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in AV systems installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting/maintenance.
  • Familiarity with A/V control systems such as Crestron, Extron, and AMX.
  • Knowledge and direct experience with Audio DSP units. Familiarity with Audio Architect is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of signal flow in both audio and video installations.
  • Experience using digital multi-meters, toning and/or testing cables.
  • Experience with installing and maintaining projectors, including a strong understanding of throw distances.
  • Background in corporate event operation, stage management, and a strong understanding of IP/networking skills area an advantage.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical specifications, etc.
  • Has a passion for the Audio Visual field and is able to learn new technologies in a rapidly evolving industry.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Work with third-party resources required to support live events to gather information such as equipment needs and requirements. Assist with the oversight of A/V equipment installation and operation for live events including microphones, speakers, audio mixers, video switchers, and lighting consoles.
  • Use industry standards and best practices to help design and scope A/V systems to meet property and guest's needs. Assist with the oversight of installation and verification of A/V equipment such as 70V speaker systems, Digital Signal Processors, LED video walls, signage displays, video distribution systems, projectors, cameras, and stage lighting equipment.
  • Assists with the creation and documentation of best practices and standard operating procedures for A/V equipment operation and repairs.
  • Help identify and find solutions to potential problems pertaining to A/V system performance, support and reliability.
  • Assist with the creation and oversight of preventive maintenance for A/V and equipment. Manage maintenance logs to ensure that equipment has been serviced properly to ensure long-term performance.
  • Monitor, operate and repair a variety of lighting dimming systems including Electronic Theater Control and GrandMa lighting consoles and Crestron Dimming.
  • Monitor and operate a variety of audio consoles for live events including Mackie, Avid, and Yamaha audio mixing consoles.
  • Help with the installation, operation, and breakdown of a variety of meetings and live events using equipment such as digital audio mixers, lighting consoles, video switchers, cameras, projectors, and LED walls.
  • Assist with low level programming support including A/V control systems, audio DSP controls, and lighting controls.
  • Work with Sales & Catering to help design and construct stage sets based on event requirements.
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding A/V software/hardware problems.
  • Oversee A/V and Low Voltage equipment inventory. Ensure that commonly used items for repairs and installation are in stock and available.
  • Document changes made to A/V systems. Update blueprints to include any changes or updates to these systems.
  • Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding Audio Visual and Low Voltage infrastructures.
  • Require the availability for all shifts and hours to support live entertainment events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
