About The Position

This position is located in Memphis, TN and reports to Senior Counsel - Complex Litigation. This position works closely with in-house attorneys and outside counsel to manage the enterprise’s docket of civil litigation and claims. It requires strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to exercise independent judgment, and a professional demeanor. The successful candidate must be capable of handling multiple priorities, performing job responsibilities within specified deadlines, and working with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Two years of relevant experience
  • A paralegal associates degree or relevant certification
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor and update Litigation Docket calendar and apprise attorneys of upcoming deadlines
  • Organize client files in electronic database
  • Draft legal pleadings and written discovery requests/responses
  • Identify and prepare responsive documents for production in discovery, including privilege logs
  • Conduct factual investigations, legal research and case assessments
  • Coordinate and confer with internal stakeholders to schedule witness interviews and investigations
  • Gather relevant information and documents from a variety of sources
  • Review and summarize deposition transcripts, document production, and medical records
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, witnesses and court personnel
  • Process garnishments and child support wage withholding orders
  • Respond to subpoenas and employment records requests
  • Accept service of process and docket applicable response deadlines
