Rivkin Radler LLP is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Uniondale, Long Island office. The candidate should have a background and experience working in a litigation firm. Must be proactive and have excellent organizational, scheduling and calendaring skills. The ability to multi-task, manage a large caseload and work in a fast-paced environment is also required. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures pertaining to electronic court filings and systems (NYSCEF)

Requirements

  • At least 3+ years relevant experience.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work with multiple attorneys.
  • Ability to work with large document intensive cases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and KOFAX Professional.
  • Working knowledge of Lexis Advance and/or Westlaw
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting of routine court documents such as Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Stipulations and other general court documents.
  • Compile and/or draft legal documents for review and use by attorneys such as routine discovery responses and affidavits.
  • E-File documents via NYSCEF and PACER.
  • Prepares exhibits and other demonstrative evidence.
  • Organize, analyze, chart and/or index, claim information, documents and/or exhibits for motion practice.
  • May assist attorneys in preparation of materials for witnesses for deposition and/or trial concerning general matters.
  • Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
  • Review, categorize and analyze reports, records, data and discovery responses.
  • Capture and record billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.
