About The Position

Fontainebleau Development is looking for an experienced litigation paralegal to support Fontainebleau Development's expanding legal department. He or she will provide assistance to Fontainebleau Development's Co-General Counsel and corporate counsels within a fast-paced legal department. Knowledge in contract review and drafting, corporate governance, and trademarks is beneficial.

Requirements

  • Excellent experience in the use of software and programs including, but not limited to, knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point, Adobe, DocuSign, contracts management software, practice management software, document management software, project management software, and cloud/internet-based collaboration software such as LawVu are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience in litigation involving general liability, commercial, and labor and employment law claims and lawsuits.
  • Experience in preparing objections and responses to written discovery requests, reviewing and analyzing deposition transcripts, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a strong ability to draft and review legal documents, analyze legal advice, and apply legal advice to business needs.
  • Hard working, resourceful, well-organized, and detail-oriented. Must be able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative to address problems and make continuous process improvements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, dynamic and highly team-oriented. Positive attitude and commitment to professionalism is required.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills a must.
  • Paralegal certification and/or equivalent experience is required.
  • At least five (5) years of paralegal or similar experience with a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department, including significant experience in managing corporate structures and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare objections and responses to written discovery requests
  • Review and analyze deposition transcripts
  • Assist in-house and outside counsel with trial preparation and trial
  • Manage projects relating to legal department, as assigned by attorneys.
  • Manage and track litigation with outside counsel.
  • Initial review and analysis of contract proposals from vendors and corporate partners; draft new contracts using Fontainebleau Development’s general contract forms; update contract management database with new executed contracts; follow up on deadlines relating to expiration of contracts.
  • Interact with all departments and provide education to assure conformity and consistency in application of business and legal policies and practices.
  • Perform independent judgment in evaluating and assessing legal issues.
  • Interface with outside counsel on litigation, corporate, and intellectual property matters.
  • Manage corporate records and books.
  • Ability to draft reports, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, memoranda, and documents related to transactional, compliance, corporate and/or litigation matters.
  • Ability to draft legal correspondence including drafting cease-and-desist letters and termination of contract letters.
  • Respond to and gather documents for subpoenas.
  • Do filings on all corporate entities to make sure entities remain in good standing.
