About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Employment Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys by performing a wide range of tasks related to employment law litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of employment law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. You will play a critical role in ensuring our clients receive effective representation throughout all stages of employment-related disputes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a paralegal, preferably in employment or labor law.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing, with experience drafting legal documents and pleadings.
  • Knowledge of employment litigation procedures and familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing sensitive and confidential case information.
  • Proficiency in case management software, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and stay self-motivated.
  • Excellent time-management and typing skills.
  • Professional demeanor, attire, and adherence to company dress code.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a paralegal certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of employment law litigation, including pre-trial preparation, trial, and post-trial activities.
  • Conduct legal research and gather evidence to support case strategies, including personnel records, company policies, and witness statements.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as complaints, answers, discovery requests/responses, motions, position statements, and settlement agreements.
  • File and manage legal documents with courts and administrative agencies (e.g., EEOC, DOL), ensuring compliance with all procedural deadlines and requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, HR professionals, and expert witnesses to obtain necessary information and documentation.
  • Review and summarize personnel files, investigation reports, disciplinary records, and other case-related documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery responses and manage the discovery process, including organizing and reviewing relevant documentation.
  • Prepare case files and exhibits for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
  • Maintain and update case management systems with case details, deadlines, and correspondence.
  • Communicate with clients to provide updates on case status, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
  • Support attorneys in trial and hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing hearing/trial binders.
