About The Position

Our client, a respected full-service law firm, is seeking an experienced Admiralty Paralegal to join their growing litigation team. This role supports maritime and admiralty matters from case inception through trial and offers long-term stability in a collaborative, professional environment.

Requirements

  • Prior paralegal experience in admiralty/maritime or complex litigation preferred
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures and discovery processes
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with LexisNexis and legal research tools
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently while supporting a team

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain case files from inception through resolution, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm standards
  • Conduct factual investigations to identify key parties, witnesses, and relevant documentation
  • Assist attorneys with the preparation of discovery requests, responses, and related litigation materials
  • Draft pleadings, correspondence, and litigation documents
  • Coordinate depositions, including scheduling parties, treating physicians, experts, and court reporters
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, including motions, mediation, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Prepare and organize exhibits, demonstratives, and supporting materials for hearings and trial
  • Verify legal citations and authorities for accuracy and current validity using LexisNexis
  • Maintain and update attorney calendars, tracking all case deadlines and court dates
  • Conduct legal research as assigned
  • Maintain and organize medical records, including preparation of medical chronologies and binders
  • Schedule and coordinate Independent Medical Examinations, Vocational Rehabilitation Evaluations, marine experts, economists, and related expert reports
  • Communicate professionally with clients, government entities, physician offices, hospitals, and court personnel
  • Maintain accurate time records and meet all firm deadlines
