The Litigation Case Staffing Manager is responsible for the allocation and staffing of legal matters within Jackson Lewis. This position will support all aspects of matter staffing for multiple offices in the NY Metro area. Oversee the assignment of attorneys to various matters based on their skills, experience, and availability. This role will develop an understanding of attorney caseloads, individual attorney strengths, areas of expertise, capacity, and billable hours trends. The Litigation Case Staffing Manager will understand all aspects of each matter, including complexity of litigation when assigning matters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a litigation law firm in NY; employment law preferred.
  • Proven work in fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels within the firm.
  • Proficiency in technology use and assessment.
  • Success in collaborative team environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of matter staffing, understanding each case's unique needs as well as a deep understanding of individual attorney knowledge skills and abilities.
  • Use firm resources and technology.
  • Ensure attorneys' caseloads stay on track to meet billable requirements.
  • Handle transitions of matters during attorney departures, leaves of absence, and integration of new hires.
  • Maintain a client-focused approach to strengthen relationships.
  • Recognize the significance of each opportunity to nurture and strengthen client relationships within local offices.
