About The Position

Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, LLC is a full-service law firm with offices located in in Akron, Canton, and Cleveland. We are currently seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join the Litigation Practice Group, working on commercial litigation and bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters. The person who fills this role will have the opportunity to become a part of a growing litigation team. He or she will have the opportunity to do sophisticated work, representing top-tier clients while enjoying the close-knit culture and firsthand experience that only a firm like ours can offer. The role includes working directly with Buckingham partners and firm clients on a wide variety of complex matters.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience working on general litigation or bankruptcy and creditors' rights matters, required.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Superior analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day tasks as well as the strategic process of case management.
• Manage cases from inception through discovery and trial preparation.
• Attend depositions, settlement conferences, and other hearings.
• Prepare motions, discovery responses, and client reports.
• Assist in trial preparation including strategy, discovery, records review, client interview, and witness preparation.
