About The Position

We are seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our Chicago, Illinois office. Our dynamic Litigation Practice Group is known for their comprehensive approach to managing a wide range of defense litigation involving personal injury, wrongful death, premises, products liability, and transportation. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of civil litigation experience. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys and clients on the defense of personal injury litigation. This position is hybrid in our Chicago, Illinois office.

Requirements

Active bar license in Illinois
1-4 years of litigation and/or civil litigation experience in either state or federal court.
Experience with trial preparation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional writing, organizational, and advocacy skills

Responsibilities

Drafting pleadings, discovery, demurrers, and motions to strike.
Communicating with clients, claims adjusters, and witnesses, providing updates and strategic input.
Collaborating with senior attorneys and clients on case strategy.
Assisting in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation.
Participating in depositions and court appearances.
Defending clients in civil litigation and arbitration involving personal injury, property damage, medical malpractice, construction, transportation, and product liability matters.
Attending court hearings and mediations both remotely and in-person.
Working closely with senior attorneys to prepare for mediations and settlement conferences.
Enjoy working collaboratively in a team setting with partners, associates, paralegals, and law clerks.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be skilled in legal research and analysis.
Have superb administrative and organizational skills.
Be diligent, driven, and eager to learn.
Possess the ability to work independently and take ownership of their work.
