The Lithographic Press Operator is an essential member of the team, responsible for the manufacturing of printed labels while continuously monitoring label quality and press conditions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of lithographic printing experience
  • Must be able to work in a team environment—ability to make and read measurements.
  • Ability to communicate in English -read, understand, and carry out written instructions.
  • Ability to understand verbal instructions.
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
  • This position requires frequent walking.
  • Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • The Printing press operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Komori 6 Color sheetfed presses.
  • Complete makeready by adjusting press components, such as feeders, delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.
  • Removes and replaces worn rollers and adjusts the pressure between rollers of the press, using hand tools.
  • Wash blankets, clean ink and ink distributing rollers, and ink fountains using ink solvent and the cleaning mechanism on the press.
  • Makes necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments before production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials.
  • Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
  • The skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.
  • Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).
  • Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Ability to instruct and provide guidance to junior-level press assistants.

  • Compensation: Up to $35/HR (based on Litho Press experience) + $2 shift differential
  • $5,000 relocation bonus upon start if you need to move to the area for this role.
