Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum 2 years as a press operator
• Must be mechanically inclined and have basic maintenance skills
• Must have an understanding of the press room ISO procedures and practices

Nice To Haves

• Lean manufacturing experience preferred
• Experience with job jackets

Responsibilities

• Follow and comply with all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Safe, effective and proper use of the equipment and necessary tools
• Maintain proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals
• Set up press by mounting plates while adjusting print quality registration and color
• Match color goal with the use of a densitometer, PMS book standards, customer color standards and/or in house standards
• Make final pre-run inspection and obtain authorization from graphics supervisor to print all orders
• Inspect the order for defects as it is being produced, and react quickly when an issue is discovered
• Verify with the supervisor any issues encountered during the run of an order
• Monitor fountain solutions levels
• Mix own ink if necessary
• Complete final count and inspection, ensuring that the record keeping is accurate and done in a timely manner
• Make proper PIF changes if necessary and give a copy to the print planners for the next reorder
• Clean press thoroughly and neatly while using the proper protective gear at all times
• Perform maintenance on the UV system
• Perform all weekly and monthly maintenance on the equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Replace some parts if applicable
• Adjust the rollers
