Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in a Finishing role.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated skills in coordinating & directing the activities of others.
  • Excellent problem solver.  Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Develops alternative solutions: works well in group problem-solving situations; uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Interpersonal skills:  focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; maintains confidentiality, listens to others without interrupting; keeps emotions under control, remains open to others’ ideas, and tries new things.
  • Must be able to think independently and be assertive.
  • Must exercise good judgment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • Able to learn new computer programs and complex procedures in a highly customized, dynamic, multi-tasking work environment.
  • The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, and talking and hearing. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource for the finishing team.
  • Drive standard work adherence at all work cells, ensuring set-up, run, and tear-down processes are being followed as outlined in Work Instructions.
  • Provide immediate support when the finishing process is down.
  • Lead daily team meetings discussing issues such as quality, safety, performance, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Communicate concerns, issues, and the status of orders at shift changes with peers and the shift supervisor as needed.
  • Train and perform demonstrations for new employees.
  • Provide immediate constructive feedback, both positive and negative, to team members.
  • Communicate with other departments and the other team leaders.
