Job Purpose Reporting to the Battery Performance Test Manager, the Lithium-ion Battery Technician will be responsible for supporting Li-Ion NPI(New Product Introduction) activities. The Lithium-ion Battery Technician will setup instrumentation and test equipment, operate, teardown, and report results of Li-ion battery tests.

Requirements

  • Good mechanical knowledge of hand tools and power equipment.
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical principles.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Technical 2-year degree in an engineering discipline or military experience in related field.
  • 2+ years of battery test experience.
  • Requires the use of MS office suite of products, especially Excel.
  • Familiar with quality standards (ISO 9001 & 17025, equipment metrology).

  • Previous experience working with Li-Ion Battery technology.
  • Experience collaborating with department team members.
  • Experience maintaining safe work practices and environment.
  • Ability to execute multiple prioritized tasks simultaneously.
  • 3D printer or CNC operation and maintenance.
  • Fabrication skills.
  • Software development experience with test communication protocols, including python programming language.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a Global V&V team supporting Li-Ion product related NPI Activities.
  • Conduct battery electrical performance testing.
  • Support testing at 3rd party laboratories.
  • Work with external parties on fixture design and test instrumentation & optimization.
  • Generate test results and supporting data in reports.
  • Provide product design enhancement suggestions.
  • Manage, maintain, and calibrate lab test equipment.
  • Operate electronic test equipment and HV battery equipment.
  • Maintain and build lab test setups.
  • Other duties as assigned.
