The role of the Literacy Coach is to strengthen evidence-based literacy instruction and improve student outcomes in the middle grade levels 6-8. This full-time, grant-funded position focuses on improving Tier 1 and Tier 2 instruction through job embedded coaching, professional learning, and data-informed practice and planning-helping teachers enhance literacy (reading and writing) outcomes for all students, particularly multilingual learners, students with disabilities, struggling readers and writers, and economically disadvantaged students. The Literacy Coach partners with teachers to enhance instruction for diverse learners through collaborative planning, differentiation and scaffolding. Working closely with school administrators and the Curriculum & Instruction Department, the coach helps align classroom practices with district and state literacy goals, ensuring consistency, rigor, and sustainability in literacy instruction across schools.
