About The Position

St. Michael-St. Gabriel, located on the west side of Indianapolis, is hiring a literacy coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The applicant would be interviewed by the school itself but must be approved by the Indiana Department of Education.

Requirements

• Have at least a bachelor's degree
• Hold a valid, professional Indiana Teacher's License
• Have obtained the Early Literacy Endorsement by the state of Indiana
• Demonstrate an expertise in implementing evidence-based instructional practices grounded in the science of reading
• Demonstrate expertise in literacy coaching
• Have a minimum of five years of teaching experience

Responsibilities

• Engage in observations, instructional modeling, and lesson planning with reading teachers
• Participate in ongoing professional learning throughout the contract period
• Complete all required documentation for the Literacy Cadre for the state
• Review data with reading teachers to improve instruction
