The Liquor Store Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the liquor department, increasing customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. This includes providing fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service, and executing merchandising plans while monitoring supply expenses and managing cash control. The role also involves supervising, training, and developing team members, ensuring a balance of physical labor, delegation, team building, leadership, planning, and administrative work.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous assistant manager experience.
  • Knowledge of liquor, wines, and beer.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  • Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and maintained for in-stock conditions.
  • Delivers daily conditions that meet the company's expectations for freshness, quality, and value.
  • Trains department associates on inventory/stocking and computer-assisted ordering.
  • Offers assistance in finding or suggesting product selection.
  • Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating and promoting teamwork.
  • Assists in establishing goals for merchandising, sales, and profits.
  • Assists in managing schedules to ensure tasks are completed during peak hours.
  • Completes daily and weekly administrative tasks including communications, online training, and scheduling.
  • Monitors and controls supply expenses and manages cash control.
  • Maintains an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, food handling practices, and sanitation standards.
  • Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner.
  • Cultivates a culture of safety within the store.
