About The Position

The Liquor PIC is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the liquor department, ensuring smooth functioning, compliance with legal requirements, and excellent customer service. This role involves supervising the liquor team, managing product merchandising, assisting customers, and ensuring compliance with alcohol and tobacco regulations. The Liquor PIC is accountable for the department's performance and assumes leadership responsibilities, including scheduling and supervising staff.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Age and certification as required by local law
  • Customer service skills preferred.
  • Training as required by local law.
  • Must be 21+ Years Old
  • Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Follows merchandising standards and practices.
  • Aligns product, collects and returns stray items, stocks to maintain high product levels.
  • Rotates merchandise.
  • Checks for accurate signage.
  • Hangs and replaces computer generated product signs.
  • Uses box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink-wrap from pallet.
  • Stocks opened cases on shelves.
  • Moves and positions pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack.
  • Stacks product from partial pallets onto full pallets.
  • Communicates with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities.
  • Writes list of products to be brought from steel, by forklift driver, for stocking.
  • Provides prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Answers phones, directs customers to product, and assists customers with product information.
  • Checks photo identification to verify legal purchase age for anyone purchasing alcohol or tobacco products.
  • Rings up orders.
  • Receives payment, makes change, processes checks, credit, EBT, and debit charges.
  • Cleans liquor store by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting.
  • Stocks supplies, empties trash, and operates trash compactor and cardboard baler.
  • Works with vendors to ensure proper order quantities and rotation.
  • Project sales and schedule labor to comply with established and/or directed standards.
  • Assists in other departments of the store as necessary.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or assigned.
