The Liquidity Lead Advisor collaborates with Treasury Management, Commercial Banking, and Corporate Treasury to optimize liquidity, strengthen deposit stability, and enable strategic balance sheet decisions. Operating as a recognized subject-matter expert, this role shapes enterprise-wide liquidity strategy, influences pricing and product design decisions, and translates complex analytics into clear executive recommendations. This role advances ONB’s priorities around organic growth, exceptional client experiences, primacy, sales excellence, and operational rigor. They are responsible for driving aggregate deposit growth and optimizing deposit spread across the Commercial Bank; advising on target earnings credit rates across the portfolio; partnering with Relationship Managers/TMCs and Product teams to architect liquidity solutions; developing and governing dashboards, models, and leadership reporting; and providing client-facing liquidity insights that deepen relationships. The role leads complex analyses of deposit flows across commercial segments, monitors ONB’s Commercial Banking liquidity position and funding requirements, and proactively identifies emerging risks/opportunities—escalating and influencing actions with senior leaders as needed.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Business/Finance preferred or H.S. diploma/GED with equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of banking experience preferred with 10+ years of experience in Treasury, Liquidity Risk, Treasury Management, Funds Transfer Pricing, or Commercial Banking preferred (or equivalent demonstrated expertise).
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of commercial deposits, pricing, and liquidity behavior, including the ability to interpret macro/market drivers and translate them into portfolio actions.
  • Deep knowledge of Commercial/TM products within ONB’s business model and strategic plan; able to advise across stakeholders while adhering to established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, implement feedback and act.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships and influence without authority across internal teams; may coach/mentor others on liquidity analytics, pricing concepts, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of successful interactions and proactive solution development
  • Ability to work with multiple matters simultaneously, managing time in a fast-paced environment and applicable resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes; manage projects efficiently and effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking aptitude; thorough and timely follow-up skills with the ability to make independent decisions based on researched conclusions
  • Ability to manage matters that may have additional complexity or uncertainty, and adapt to new and different circumstances, including supporting different Relationship Managers/TM (Sales) Consultants with different work styles
  • Strong analytical, modeling, and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels in and outside of the organization
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into executive-ready insights, narratives, and recommendations that drive decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and lead through ambiguity with limited day-to-day guidance, prioritizing competing needs and driving outcomes.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office programs and well as unique software/system knowledge, ONB’s system is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor ONB’s daily liquidity position and short-term deposit trends in partnership with Commercial Bank leadership and Corporate Treasury; synthesize implications and recommended actions for senior stakeholders.
  • Lead analysis of deposit flows across Commercial, Business Banking, Specialty, and Institutional segments—identifying drivers, concentration risk, and sustainability of balances.
  • Define and drive initiatives tied to primacy and deposit growth, aligning analytics, field execution, and incentive levers to ONB’s commercial strategy and TM leadership priorities.
  • Own and refine assumptions and methodologies (e.g., deposit betas, decay, FTP/attribution inputs where applicable) and evaluate client-level profitability to inform commercial deposit pricing, earnings credit rates, and product design decisions.
  • Evaluate sources and uses of funds across lines of business and influence decisions related to pricing, deposit mix, and capital/liquidity efficiency; surface tradeoffs and recommendations for leadership decisions.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and align strategy for deposit-rich verticals, partnering with segment leaders to set targets, track performance, and drive corrective actions.
  • Provide expert analytical and strategic approaches to TM Sales and TM Product Management to design liquidity products, pricing strategies, and client liquidity structures; set analytical standards and ensure solutions are aligned to ONB’s focus on sales excellence, data as an asset, and delivering the entire bank.
  • Advise on the bank’s counterparty risk profile and liquidity analysis relative to a client’s investment policy; support internal governance discussions with well-supported recommendations.
  • Develop and quality-review client-specific liquidity analyses for commercial relationship managers and deal teams, enabling primacy strategies across Business Banking, Middle Market, Specialty, and Institutional verticals.
  • Reinforce ONB’s differentiated client experience by translating liquidity data into compelling, executive-ready insights; influence client decisions and deepen relationships through consultative presentations.
  • Build and govern dashboards, forecasting models, and liquidity reporting; define requirements, validate data quality, and drive adoption consistent with ONB’s push toward data as an asset and enhanced reporting.
  • Deliver clear executive-level summaries for senior leaders, market presidents, and TM leadership; translate complex analyses into decisions, tradeoffs, and recommended actions.
  • Establish unified frameworks and cross-functional alignment by connecting liquidity insights with broader portfolio and relationship metrics; facilitate working sessions to drive shared understanding and execution.
