About The Position

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. We are seeking a Linux Windows/Automation Administrator to support our Veterans Affairs (VA) program.

Requirements

  • Proficient in using Secure Shell (SSH) for managing remote systems.
  • Experience with shell programming to automate routine administrative tasks.
  • Competent in writing and interpreting YAML configurations.
  • Strong understanding and ability to implement NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) guidelines.
  • Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with VA 6500 and apply relevant standards to system configurations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Red Hat Linux administration and automation.
  • Proven experience with Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Moderate experience in Windows Server maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of database management (Windows SQL, Oracle, IRIS).

Nice To Haves

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification and/or CISSP with focus on Linux administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Apply system hardening techniques and ensure secure configurations.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices per STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) and VA 6500 directives.
  • Build, configure, and maintain Red Hat Satellite and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Develop and manage automation workflows using Ansible playbooks.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and manage Ansible playbook execution.
  • Write and maintain custom Ansible playbooks for deploying, configuring, and managing systems.
  • Utilize shell programming (bash, Python) for routine tasks and complex automation processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and update YAML configurations for automation and orchestration tasks.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on Windows Server environments.
  • Apply patches, updates, and configuration changes as necessary.
  • Provide basic administration and support for Windows SQL Server, Oracle, and IRIS databases.
  • Assist in resolving database issues.
