Join the Distributed Compute & Storage team as a Linux Systems Engineer, where you'll power the backbone of Fidelity’s infrastructure! In this dynamic role, you'll design, deploy, and manage high-performance server environments that keep our applications secure, reliable, and fast. From engineering solutions to troubleshooting across diverse systems, you'll collaborate with global teams—including daily interactions with our India offices—and represent Distributed Compute & Storage during critical incidents. The Expertise and Skills You Bring As a Linux Systems Engineer at Fidelity, you’ll be a key player in maintaining and evolving our enterprise infrastructure. With deep expertise across server, storage, and virtualization technologies, you’ll drive operational excellence, lead incident response efforts, and collaborate with global teams to deliver secure, scalable, and automated solutions. Your role will span engineering, troubleshooting, and process improvement, all while supporting mission-critical systems and applications.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT experience with a strong focus on server and storage infrastructure
  • Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux), virtualization (VMware, OLVM, OpenStack), and disk storage protocols (iSCSI, FiberChannel)
  • Hands-on experience with PURE, Infinidat, IBM storage platforms, and Veritas/InfoScale products
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, hardware, and storage environments
  • On-call support experience and ability to lead high-severity incident calls
  • Automation and scripting skills using Shell, Python, PowerShell, and Ansible
  • Familiarity with Windows, SAN/NAS/CAS infrastructure, and server hardware (HP, Dell, IBM AIX)
  • Agile and ITSM expertise, with a focus on stability, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • Proven ability to collaborate with vendors and internal teams to drive RCA and implement solutions
  • Passion for innovation in automation, self-service, and self-healing infrastructure
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
