About The Position

Seeking a Linux System Engineer to be part of an IT team in an agile hyper converged Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment. They will develop and implement cybersecurity compliant new capabilities in addition to enhancing legacy products and systems. They will draft, develop, and document IT engineering efforts for new and existing capabilities. They will act as a Tier III operations and sustainment. They will work with various technologies to execute development, prototypes, and production tests as needed. They will work closely with the IT teams (Architect, Admin and Sustainment, Installers) on requirements and integration.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with ability to get a Poly
  • Minimum 7+ years of related experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related field – work experience can be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Experience in Linux integration, engineering, and administration
  • Experience in Virtualization technologies and shared storage
  • Experience using automation technologies
  • Experience in Linux administration including scripting
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and briefing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Success is defined by the ability to understand your path forward, effectively communicate that path, and complete the task inherent to that path in a timely matter
  • Team member in an agile multiple disciplined IT team for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining a Global Linux environment and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of good IT engineering principles and cybersecurity compliance
  • Receive Architect IT design and requirements and put though engineering development and implementation; recommend sound cybersecurity practices in the engineering development
  • Act as a Tier III support; develop automated solutions to enhance administration and sustainment; enforce configuration management
  • Brief direction, updates, and solutions to teammates and customers
  • Document work for the benefit of teammates, users, leadership, and posterity.
