Are you a skilled Linux Systems Administrator looking to work on mission-critical systems in a dynamic environment? Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support Linux-based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. In this role, you’ll perform daily system checks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure.   • Manage new user onboarding, workstation imaging, and configuration.
  • Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.
  • Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades.
  • Monitor and maintain network systems.
  • Install server and network equipment in a data center environment.
  • Document infrastructure architecture changes and updates.
  • Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk.
  • Occasionally support after-hours system upgrades.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience (additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered)
  • 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services.
  • Understanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall).
  • Familiarity with virtualization and Docker technologies.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Salt, Ansible, or Puppet.
  • Proficiency with tools like Confluence and JIRA.
  • Experience with a wide variety of open-source software and utilities.
  • Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP-based systems.
  • Background in network security, intrusion detection, and server monitoring.
  • Familiarity with server and networking equipment rack installations.
