The Linux System Administrator will be responsible for building, configuring, deploying, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting both virtual and physical servers/systems. The role requires ensuring that system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management, and documentation practices. The administrator will make recommendations to plan, develop, and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements. Additionally, the position involves performing necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems and trends, aiding in troubleshooting actions. Timely updates on the status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts will be provided to appropriate team leads, managers, and stakeholders. The role also includes installing, configuring, and managing RHEL and other Linux-based systems, assisting integration leads and managers in problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation as needed. The administrator will advise team members and leadership, making appropriate technical recommendations regarding system development issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, process creation and development, and support efforts. The use of the REMEDY ticketing system to report, track, and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions is also required, along with other duties as assigned.
