About The Position

This Classified IT Operations position supports Lockheed Martin Space. The selected candidate will be responsible for upgrades, operations and maintenance, hardware and software installations, and service requests (servers, workstations, containers, networking, and storage), as well as continuity of operations (backups and verified restore capabilities). In this position, the chosen candidate will utilize their system administration and architecture skills as primary IT support for several classified environments. Candidate must have a TS/SCI security clearance with an active CI Poly

Requirements

  • Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance with a CI Poly
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have a DoD 8572 qualified certification such as CompTIA Security+ (or be able to acquire within 60 days)
  • Direct work experience with Operating System life cycle management and configuration management (i.e., Installation/Upgrades, System Imaging, Account Management, SSSD and LDAP, Hardware Modernization, Performance Monitoring, Ansible, etc.)
  • Direct work experience using and administrating Unix or Linux Operating Systems
  • Direct work experience with scripting and automation (i.e., Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Must have a solid understanding of Linux file permissions, and log-file troubleshooting tactics.
  • Knowledge of VMware for virtualization of servers

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Requirements
  • Direct work experience interfacing with vulnerability remediation tools and security management tools used for system hardening, log management. and configuration management (ex: Nessus, McAfee, WSUS, Yum/DNF, SCCM, Ivanti, Shavlik, Blade Logic, Splunk, ACAS, SCAP, HBSS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of container creation and management (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Git, GitLab, BitBucket, etc…)
  • Experience with HPC systems
  • Knowledge of Linux authentication with Active Directory (SSSD)
  • Experience with OpenShift or similar kubernetes platforms
  • Experience building and managing Podman or Docker containers

Responsibilities

  • Install/configure Linux operating systems and software applications
  • Perform periodic audits of system security settings
  • Install operating system security patches and firmware updates
  • Create/manage security groups
  • Coordinate hardware repair activities
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware/software problems/issues
  • Create scripts to automate system administration tasks
  • Provision virtual environments using VMware
