About The Position

Linux System Administrator Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Space and Launch Organization seeks an early career Linux System Administrator to support Proprietary Programs in Seal Beach, CA. You will assist in installations, perform environment set-up, and help maintain operational readiness with various operating systems and hardware interfaces. Position Responsibilities : Assist with install ation, config uration, and management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ( RHEL ) and AWS environments to ensure optimal performance and security. Collaborate with teams to integrate AWS services, enhancing system capabilities and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with advanced security directives, including the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide ( JSIG ) and Risk Management Framework ( RMF ). Support system lifecycle management activities, including system provisioning, patch ing, and maintenance of RHEL environments to ensure optimal performance and security. Perform user administration to manage user access in accordance with security policies and support problem resolution. Engage in on-the-job training, including self-study, mentor/mentee relationships, and hands-on learning to develop your skills in Linux and cloud technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support program objectives in an Agile environment. This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) This position requires the ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Requirements

  • Possess a currently active Top Secret with SCI US Security Clearance ( TS/SCI ), or have completed a Tier 5 ( T5 ), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the past 5 years.
  • Experience working with Linux .
  • Experience instal ling, config uring, troubleshooting, and administering support for Linux (RHEL) server or workstation.
  • Ability to obtain security certifications such as Security+ (Sec+) or equivalent IAT Level 2 certifications per DoD Instruction 8570 (8140).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
