Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS),Red LAN teamis seeking an Associate or Mid-Level Linux System Administrator (Level 2 or 3) to join our team located in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining various Windows and Unix/Linux-based operating systems across multiple local area networks (LANs). You will be a member of a small team with responsibility over three sites, each of which have multiple LANs and Operational Systems. This position requires the individual be able to investigate, analyze and resolve Windows and UNIX/Linux based system problems to maintain 24/7 Space Domain Awareness (SDA) data flow to our war fighters. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to provide first-time quality documentation, the ability to work as part of a large team, and the ability to provide critical support of operational systems. This position requires routine contact with customers, subcontractors and teammates and requires working directly at customer sites. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

  • Administer and manage all aspects of Windows and UNIX/Linux systems
  • Develop and maintain Red LAN hardware and software resources
  • Perform system and user account maintenance
  • Implement, test and assess security/cyber security configuration of Windows and Linux servers in a Risk Management Framework (RMF) environment
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Red LAN baseline application and software
  • Install, analyze, test and implement security/cyber security patches and hardening
  • Monitor, evaluate, and optimize system performance
  • Support telephone and physical recall for system anomalies as required
  • Perform system backup and restoration tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operating system conflicts
  • Provide system administration support and assistance for development systems
  • Develop disaster recovery procedures
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Document maintenance actions
  • Support design of future containers and cloud implementations
  • Provide technical solutions and work collaboratively with stakeholders on their needs, goals, expectations, and sensitivities
  • Work under general direction
  • 2+ years of experience in Systems or Network Administration
  • 1+ years of experience with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
  • 1+ years of experience working with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and implementation
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret/SCI Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
