About The Position

The System Administrator will provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Experience required to support the implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. The System Administrator will be part of a team evaluating system and hardware problems and will be responsible for the resolution process. They will configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and will install/ load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance. Experience with Container Technology: Administering large software deployments on LINUX/UNIX systems, administering clustered storage solutions (e.g. storage appliances, Ceph), Kubernetes orchestrated containers, system configuration management software (e.g. Puppet, Ansible) and change control. About the work: In May of 2019, Amazon opened its first AWS Ground Station, a "virtualized segment for ground processing" of satellite signals that support 54 MHz uplink and 500 MHz downlink processing using the proven AWS Cloud Services and technologies. Microsoft Orbital and Google were close behind with their own satellite processing architectures based on cloud services and technologies. At the same time, technologies supporting next-generation 5G exploded into the same cloud technology arena. Geon has been awarded a prime contract to leverage these very same technologies to build next-generation Software Defined Radio (SDR) solutions for the defense and intelligence industry. Requirements

  • Minimum Ten (10) years of experience as a SA in programs and contract of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five(5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Active Security Clearance Required

Responsibilities
