About The Position

The Infrastructure Team Member will be responsible for the implementation, support and maintenance of all aspects of the project’s Linux infrastructure. Project infrastructure includes virtual and physical servers and software resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years of related Systems and Linux Engineering experience
  • US Citizenship Required

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with SQL querying of a relational database, such as MySQL
  • Prior experience with Nutanix and HPCC technologies
  • Prior experience with Python and Ansible automation of system administration and configuration tasks
  • Prior experience setting up Docker clusters using Swarm and or Kubernetes
  • Prior experience with HP Apollo 4000 and 2000 systems architectures
  • Prior experience with git for Infrastructure code management

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, secure and maintain all physical and virtual onsite and cloud servers/vms/instances using kickstart, puppet, ansible, infrastructure-as-code
  • Monitor health and capacity of and troubleshoot Linux system resources using Nagios and iLO or iDRAC and VMware host console
  • Assist multiple development teams with recurring operations and maintenance activities (host creation, system performance issues, H/W issues, general Linux administration support, Centrify/AD support, etc.)
  • Coordinating and escorting vendors into the Data Center to replace failed hardware components on Linux systems
  • Project based development and implementation of new Linux hardware and software capabilities (Security enhancements, Central Logging, Resource Monitoring and Notification, Dev/Ops Automation, etc.)
  • Participating in and conducting applicable accreditation support (scans, automation, auditing, etc.) of Linux systems
  • Providing general Linux system administration guidance and support to multiple development teams (disk management, account creation, design reviews, etc.)
  • Create, manage, and update Linux servers in the cloud environment
