The Linux System Administrator provides on-site technical support for enterprise systems, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient system operations. This role supports system integration efforts, recovery activities, and continuous process improvements while collaborating closely with technical teams and on-site stakeholders. This role will be at Fort Gordon in Augusta, GA.

  • Provide on-site technical support for Linux-based systems and associated infrastructure.
  • Support system transitions, integrations, and deployments across multiple units and locations
  • Perform system recovery and troubleshooting to restore and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with other site representatives, engineering teams, and technical stakeholders
  • Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings to ensure system performance, compliance, and reliability.
  • Contribute to change management processes, including documenting and coordinating system changes
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure data consistency, integrity, and system reliability.
  • Modify, refine, and improve operational processes, incorporating enhancements into future software and system releases.
  • Support multiple technical and administrative personnel on-site in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience administering Linux systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms.
  • Experience supporting Windows systems alongside Linux environments.
  • Ability to support and troubleshoot Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software solutions.
  • Experience resolving issues in relational database systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, technical teams, and management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team under pressure and meet strict schedules.
  • Proven ability to operate in environments with high visibility to senior leadership and customers.
  • Must have IAT Level II certification.
  • A bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in performing similar or related work is required. Four years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • TS//SCI clearance required.
  • Experience supporting complex, mission-critical systems in an on-site operational environment.
  • Familiarity with IT service management and change control processes.
