About The Position
The position involves providing linguistic support at U.S. Embassies and Consulates in high-threat countries. The role requires interpreting and translating verbal and written communications, ensuring accurate conveyance of information in the proper context, and supporting the vetting process for locally engaged staff and job applicants. The linguist will also perform quality control on translations and transcriptions, and may be required to undertake auxiliary duties to support the mission of the organization.
