About The Position

Connexus Energy is looking to fill multiple openings for a seasonal Apprentice Lineman to assist our line crews, while gaining experience, in all aspects of safe construction and maintenance of our electrical distribution system. This opening is anticipated to start working in early June with the assignment ending in late November. Normal hours will occur between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. with emergency or scheduled work on holidays, weekends or any time of the day, if needed. Compensation: The hourly wage for this union position is $37.33 per hour in accordance with the union contract. Requirements

High school or GED diploma AND Electrical Lineworker Diploma
Successfully completed energized line work training in an accredited program
Current and valid Class A Driver’s License
Valid DOT health card
First Aid and CPR Certified
Bucket and pole top rescue certified within the standards accepted by Connexus Energy
Mechanical aptitude to operate various machines and equipment such as bucket truck, digger truck, cable plow and backhoe
Ability to read and understand written work documents such as charts, diagrams, schematics and staking sheets
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with crew members, Connexus Energy employees, other utilities, customers and governmental officials
Ability to work well as part of a team
Ability to work overtime and various work shifts

Responsibilities

Build overhead electrical distribution systems within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards.
Build underground electrical distribution systems within the appropriate specifications, guidelines and standards.
Maintain the electrical distribution system to ensure its safety and reliability while minimizing any disruption of service.
Restore power in a safe and timely manner.
