About The Position

Soiled Linen production of linens for CAMC facilities and all other contracted clients according to required production output standards. Mains linen facilities, to include thorough cleaning and painting. Also supports linen plant mechanics during large repair procedures. Performs daily housekeeping functions, including: production plant blow-downs, lint system cleaning, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, general degreasing and cleaning of machinery, and other requested miscellaneous duties necessary to maintain the facility and other CAMC Laundry assets. Must be able to work independently, proactively and safely.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2-4 years Linen

Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality production of sorted linens for the needs of CAMC and all contract-serviced facilities.
  • Demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn the position.
  • Maintain production output beyond minimum requirements of linen production standards.
  • Comply with all CAMC rules for health, safety and personnel conduct.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Exhibit flexibility to ensure all necessary functions of laundry production and distribution occur to be sure premium direct patient-care is not jeopardized by lack of linen.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment exists for the production team and CAMPack terminal cleaning.
  • Assists the linen plant mechanics during facility and machine repairs, as needed.
  • Daily preventative maintenance of the laundry's lint collection system.
  • Must Demonstrate an ability to perform job responsibilities with a minimum of supervision, and within an approved work-schedule.
  • Accountable for the proper mixing and use of cleaning chemicals. Must also control and manage all cleaning tools and supplies.
  • Must have the ability to skillfully and safely work from ladders and man lifts
  • Must possess painting skills.
  • Provides unassisted non-mechanical maintenance, degreasing, and cleaning of all laundry equipment. Vacuums to ensure lint-free inner-environments of laundry equipment.
  • Attentive to visual and audible indicators of mechanical depreciation (early warning signs of breakdown).
  • Monitors plant support systems; such as chemicals, water and lubricating oils.
  • Routine cleaning all air intake vents, and dryer vents.
  • Provide assistance in proficient operation of laundry's washers and dryers.
  • Keep all laundry walkways, grounds, and parking areas free of debris whenever necessary.
  • Provides leadership with respected feedback on equipment utilization, upkeep, and operational productivity.
  • Comply with all CAMC rules for health, safety, and personnel conduct.
  • Exhibit flexibility to ensure all necessary functions of laundry production and distribution occur so premium direct patient-care is not jeopardized by lack of linen.
  • Demonstrate competency working with UNIMAC and tunnel washer system
  • Demonstrate competency working with press, conic, and dryer control system
  • Demonstrate competency working with all folding and finishing equipment
  • Demonstrate competency working all conveyor belts, cart lift and cart washer.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of both clean and soiled linen operations and assist wherever necessary
